The Victorian Wildlife Council are proud to announce registrations are now open for the Australian Wildlife Rehabilitation Conference to be held at Central Pier, Docklands in Melbourne 1st -4th August, 2016.
This year being a very special year, as it is our 10th conference, since the inaugural conference was held at the University of Victoria in Werribee.
Our committee have been working hard to bring you a diverse programme with an array of exciting speakers and interactive workshops. The latest in research and information in wildlife rehabilitation, an exciting networking evening function, plus trade tables from wildlife artists through to the latest products supporting wildlife care.

Keynote announcement. Committee are very pleased to announce our special keynote speaker Steve Parish!
Steve is a champion of the protection of wildlife and the natural environment, and promoting the natural history of Australian ecosystems. During the last 50 years, the public has connected with Steve’s work in more than 2500 published books.
He is a passionate photographer, naturalist, author, educator, public speaker and publisher, connecting people, especially children, to nature, through his emotive, inspirational, life-enhancing images of Australia’s unique wildlife, flora, landscapes and places, presented to his audiences through workshops, public talks and publications.
In addition to being our keynote speaker, Steve has kindly offered to hold one of his renowned photography workshops especially for our delegates at CAE, Melbourne City on Sunday 31st July. Places are limited, so be sure not to miss out on this very special opportunity!
Peninsula C event space is located at Central Pier Shed 14, Docklands. It is surrounded by beautiful views of the Victoria Harbour. Docklands is a cultural, community, entertainment and events hub.

Directions to Central Pier
By Car: Southbound traffic wanting to access Harbour Esplanade should travel east into Dudley Street and then south into Wurundjeri Way (behind Etihad Stadium) then towards Docklands into Bourke Street and right into Harbour Esplanade. Northbound traffic or travelling from Charles Grimes Bridge wanting to access Harbour Esplanade should travel through Batman’s Hill district onto Wurundjeri Way and onto Bourke Street and right into Harbour Esplanade.
By Tram: Catch the free City Circle Tram to docklands or take one of the following city trams:
No. 30 via La Trobe Street, No. 31 via Collins Street, No. 48 & No. 70 via Flinders Street, No. 86 via Bourke Street.
By Train: Southern Cross Station (formerly Spencer Street Station) is Melbourne’s main rail interchange for suburban, regional, and interstate trains and is located right on Docklands’ doorstep.
At Southern Cross Station, exit at the northern end to walk over the Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge to Harbour Esplanade. Alternatively, exit the station on the corner of Spencer and Collins Streets, and walk over the Collins Street Bridge to Docklands Park.
From the Airport
Skybus Service; from Melbourne Airport the Skybus service takes you into the heart of the city to Southern Cross Station. For more information on time tables & fares, please visit: www.skybus.com.au.
Taxi: Delegates can catch a taxi from designated taxi ranks, unless you have pre-booked one. Taxi ranks are located on the ground floor outside Terminals 1 and between Terminal 2 and 3. Taxi ranks are located on the ground floor of the transport hub outside Terminal 4.
Car Hire: Melbourne Airport has six car rental companies located on site. All have offices on the ground floor at the arrivals terminal. Terminal T1, T2, T3 car park, and information desks in the Melbourne Airport domestic terminals. Contact the companies direct for current rates. Southbank is within walking distance or short taxi ride from Docklands. From there you may like to visit the Melbourne Aquarium, Southbank Promenade or even the Casino or perhaps enjoy a sunset river cruise along the Yarra River.
